Why We Shimmer
Shimmer by Cindy® began in 2006 at my kitchen table — a dream shared with my mother and inspired by the timeless beauty of family heirlooms. What started as a passion for creating meaningful jewelry has grown into a brand that sparkles with both artistry and purpose.
Our Shimmer for the Cure™ Initiative, born from a single awareness bracelet in 2007, has evolved into a heartfelt mission to give back. Through partnerships with METAvivor, Breakthrough T1D, and the National Breast Cancer Foundation, we proudly support causes that bring hope, healing, and strength to countless lives.
We shimmer to honor love, courage, and community — reminding the world that every sparkle has the power to make a difference.

Our Partnership with METAvivor
Since 2023, Shimmer for the Cure™ has proudly partnered with METAvivor, the only U.S. nonprofit that dedicates 100% of its funding to research for metastatic breast cancer (MBC).
Through this partnership, 100% of the net proceeds from our MBC Collection directly support METAvivor’s mission during October and 25% the rest of the year — advancing critical research, advocacy, and awareness for those living with stage 4 breast cancer. 🩷💚💙
Introducing our "Pretty in Pink" jewelry collection—a stunning array of pieces adorned with delicate pink gemstones, each one symbolizing strength, resilience, and hope in the fight against breast cancer. From elegant necklaces to sparkling earrings, every piece is crafted with care and attention to detail, offering both beauty and meaning.
Inspired by a cause close to our hearts: diabetes awareness, Skyline Royale Collection is designed to empower and educate, bringing forth a message of strength and resilience to those living with diabetes. In this shimmery collection, we have incorporated the symbolic royal blue color, a vibrant hue that represents unity, support, and hope.

The Heart Behind the MBC Sparkle
The Shimmer for the Cure™ MBC Collection was created in loving memory of Nola Addante, whose courage and grace continue to inspire all who knew her. Nola was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer — also known as stage 4 breast cancer — and faced her journey with unshakable strength, compassion, and hope.
During her fight, the Nola Three Stone Ring was designed to honor her resilience. The three stones — pink, green, and teal — reflect the colors of the metastatic breast cancer ribbon, symbolizing love, faith, and strength. What began as a single ring to lift Nola’s spirits has since grown into a meaningful collection of jewelry that shimmers with purpose, love, and remembrance.
The collection now stands as a tribute to Nola and to all MBC Thrivers who continue to shine through adversity. Each piece serves as a reminder that even in the hardest battles, there is beauty, hope, and connection.
Throughout the month of October, 100% of proceeds from the Shimmer for the Cure™ MBC Collection are donated to METAvivor, funding vital research and support for those living with metastatic breast cancer.

Our Partnership with the National Breast Cancer Foundation
In March 2024, Shimmer for the Cure™ proudly partnered with the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) — an organization devoted to providing help and inspiring hope to those affected by breast cancer through early detection, education, and patient support.
Through our Pretty in Pink Collection, we donate 25% of net profits each October to NBCF, helping fund their life-saving programs and outreach initiatives. Throughout the year, we also contribute gifts-in-kind — from candles and jewelry boxes to comfort items that bring warmth and encouragement to women on their breast cancer journey. 🩷
Our Partnership with Breakthrough T1D
Since November 2023, Shimmer for the Cure™ has proudly partnered with Breakthrough T1D (formerly JDRF), the leading global organization funding research to cure, prevent, and treat Type 1 Diabetes. As a local Chicago Champion, we are honored to support their mission through advocacy, awareness, and giving.
Through our continued partnership, a portion of the net proceeds during November and select product collaborations help fund critical research and provide hope to children, adults, and families living with T1D. Together, we strive to make a difference — one shimmer, one breakthrough, one act of kindness at a time. 💙
